Krynki
In cooperation with mr. M.R. Pul from the UK.
According to mr. M.R.Pul, originally from Krynki in Poland but now living in the United Kingdom, his ancestors moved from Amsterdam to Gdansk and after a few decades moved again to Torun. In 1812 a great-great-grandfather took part in Napoleon's campaign to Russia.
He was hit by a bullet and seriously injured. He was left with people in the neighbourhood.
They cared for him and after recovery he married a woman from the village of Krynki. There he became the ancestor of the Krynki branch that now numbers around 43 people. Until the Second World War they were called the Olender's. In that branch it is generally known, through transmission from generation to generation, that they originally come from Amsterdam via Torun. Many of the ancestors in that branch are called Jan and are masons.
He probably was part of the army of prince Schwarzenberg who attacked from the direction of Brest the area belonging to Russia at the time between Bialystok and Grodno.
